The fairy is a supernatural being that appears in the legends, folklore, and mythology of cultures around the world. It is a symbol of goodness, using its supernatural abilities to do good for humans. In Turkish mythology, the concept of the fairy is also evident in Dede Korkut’s story of Tepegöz and the belief in the inspirational Ak Kızlar (White Girls).

We envisioned a fairy girl living in lakes, seas, and mountains—places where salt is found—and symbolized this through our emblem. We named this fairy the "Salt Fairy." The Salt Fairy, Efsina, works tirelessly day and night with water, one of the two sources of life, to make salt, which we call "Life Crystals," available for human use, overseeing its formation and distribution.
